John Wesley was the founder of the Methodist church. He was a preacher with a burden for preaching the gospel. So, John took a group of missionaries to the United State where they taught clergy to pastor the Methodist in America.
There were many more clergy for the Methodist that was documented their pasturing in the church. In 1851 the first woman pastor came to be. Lydia Sexton refuse to be licensed at first but her Methodist church voted her into lead her group until 1858. In Lydia’s senior years she worked in a prison ministering to inmates. She was the first female jail chaplain and did this until her death.
The founding father of Methodist Missionaries was Tomas Coke. He was a lawyer who turned to priesthood and started the Methodist in the West Indies. He attempted to go and do the same in the East Indies but die before that was accomplished.click here
